Physical Demands Analysis / Job Site Analysis

A Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) / Job Site Analysis (JSA) is a resource which defines a particular job, the general tasks performed within the job, the specific physical requirements of the job (both essential and non-essential), as well as environmental factors related to the job.  The PDA/JSA can be conducted through a document review, dependent on sufficient relevant documentation, or through an in-person visit at the job site, dependent on the employer’s consent. The PDA/JSA is most commonly used as a resource for the Functional Abilities Evaluation when determining if an individual meets the requirements of a particular job.  The PDA/JSA is also a useful resource in identifying appropriate job modifications or accommodations when an individual is no longer able to meet the demands of their job.
